Alabama execution delayed as court ponders reprieve

(Reuters) - The execution of an Alabama man convicted of murdering a police officer in 1985 was temporarily halted on Thursday after attorneys asked the U.S. Supreme Court to spare the man's life because he had several strokes that left him unable to remember the crime.
