High winds to hamper California firefighters into weekend

FARIA BEACH/LILAC, Calif. (Reuters) - Armies of firefighters on Friday battled an expanding front of Southern California wildfires that have raged for five days and destroyed at least 500 structures, with the gusty winds expected to drive the conflagrations into the weekend.
